SGI-NZ co-organises Auckland City for Peace Declaration and the Anniversary of NZ’s Nuclear Free Legislation

Auckland City celebrated the launch of Auckland as a Peace City and the 25th anniversary of New Zealand’s nuclear free legislation on 8 and 9 June.  The events were organised by the Peace City Committee, including representatives from Soka Gakkai International of NZ (SGINZ) and other civil society organisations.  The Committee is headed by Laurie Ross, a long time anti-nuclear activist and an SGI-NZ member.

Wellington City Nuclear Free Concert Co-Hosted By Soka Gakkai Buddhists

Wellington will commemorate 30 years as a nuclear free city with a free concert this weekend with performances by Anika Moa, Don McGlashan, Warren Maxwell, Bella Kulolo and the Sam Manzanza and the Afro Beat Band.  The concert is hosted by the Soka Gakkai International and the Wellington City Council.
