"Gandhi, King, Ikeda" Exhibition Opens in Auckland, New Zealand - Jan 14

On January 14, the "Gandhi, King, Ikeda--A Legacy of Building Peace" exhibition opened at the Panmure Public Library in Auckland, New Zealand. Auckland is the fourth city in New Zealand to host the exhibit organized by SGI-New Zealand. Many guests, including Auckland Mayor John Banks, attended the opening. The exhibit runs through January 25.

SGI-New Zealand celebrates SGI Day

On January 26, SGI-New Zealand (SGI-NZ) met to commemorate January 26, SGI Day, at the SGI-NZ Culture Center in Auckland, New Zealand. At the meeting, Daniel Chan was appointed SGI-NZ's Pacific General Chapter leader. Also, two chapters and three districts were newly created in Auckland. SGI-NZ, which today consists of seven chapters and 17 districts, began from one district in 1975. SGI-NZ Honorary General Director Fred Parsons spoke about the significance of SGI Day and chronicled SGI-NZ's development. He called on the participants to further advance with solidarity. Congratulatory messages from worldwide SGI constituent organizations were introduced. Each chapter also held kick-off meetings.
